What do you do to have fun @ work?
Whether you have a corporate gig or own your own business…you have to find your fun. A long time ago I was mentoring a new sales rep (Hi April) and she was feeling very overwhelmed. “I don’t know if I can do this” she said to me. My advice to her was: “If you can’t laugh at it, leave it alone”.
I try to find the fun or humor in most situations, and sometimes the joke is me! One of my stunts was to put my wig on my computer when I was fed up. Oh yes I did!
I’ve had jobs with Beer Fridays, watergun fights, the list is long and varied.

I have to admit that I am a soap opera addict. At 12 noon almost every day the tv at my office is tuned into All My Children. So if you wonder why you can’t reach me around that time, you know why now!

After all these years , I still remember that day in the ladies room when your advise to have fun rang loud and clear. When I remember to have fun, it truly works and I feel more productive and empowered.

Here is what I have learned over the years – Work Hard and Play as hard as you work! If you only work and don’t play – you miss a lot of life. So for me, it’s get outside when its warm and go to the beach, or to the park and play volley ball or soft ball or flag football, or go play in the water. Now if it’s not warm outside, then it is time go to the movies or a jazz concert or to the symphony orchestra. Once you have had some fun – the brain and heart work so much better. Ahhhh, life can be so great!
